G-l V the metropolitan toronto and region conservation authority minutes INFORMATION & EDUCATION ADVISORY BOARD 2-March-1984 #1/84 Meeting #1/84 of the Information & Education Advisory Board was held in the Council Chamber, Town of Vaughan Municipal Office, following termination of Authority Meeting #2/84 PRESENT Chairman J A Bryson Vice-Chairman Ms. S Nimmo Members Mrs F.E. Gell R.J. Crowe Mrs L. Hancey Ms W. Metcalfe ABSENT Members D.L. Cook W Sutherland A brief meeting of the Information & Education Advisory Board was called by the Chairman at the Town of Vaughan Municipal Office, on Fr iday , March 2, 1984, following termination of Authority Meeting #2/84. The purpose of the meeting was to name technical consultants to the Board in accordance with Authority Resolution #38/84, which reads, in part, as follows II . THAT each Functional Advisory Board may name, to a maximum of five, technical consultants to assist the board as deemed necessary, persons so named having no voting privileges, AND FURTHER THAT per diem and expenses be paid to said consultants where appropriate II Res. #1 Moved by Mrs. L Hancey Seconded by Ms S Nimmo THAT the following persons be named as technical consultants, without voting privileges, to assist the Information & Education Advisory Board as deemed necessary for the year 1984 Charles G Brown John Downing Ii J. Dunlop Mrs Dorothy Zajac CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY Res. #2 Moved by Mrs. L. Hancey Seconded by Mrs. F E. Gell THAT Dr Harry Leith be named as technical consultant, without voting privileges, to assist the Information & Education Advisory Board as deemed necessary for the year 1984 CARRIED. PROGRESS REPORT The Progress Report for the first quarter of 1984, which had been forwarded with the Ag~nda, was briefly reviewed and discussed. Peter Head reviewed the activities of the Information Section during the period A~ril 1 to June 21, 1984 and T. Barber discussed the activities of the Education Section. Attendance and revenue for the six month period at the Conservation Areas, Black Creek Pioneer Village and the Kortright Centre for Conservation were discussed. Programs and projects for the remaining six months of the year were highlighted and briefly discussed. Res. *5 Moved by: Mr s. F. E. Gell Seconded by Mrs. to. Hancey THAT the Progress Report for the period January 1 to June 21, 1984 as presented be received. CARRIED. G-3 Meeting i;2/84 Information & Education Advisory Board Friday, June 21, 1984 TOUR OF PROJECTS 10:00 a.m. Tour of Projects at the Kortright Centre for Conservation (Woodland Pavilion, Forestry Trail, Marsh Boardwalk, Photovoltaic System), new Etobicoke Outdoor Education Centre at Albion Hills and the renovations at the Albion Hills Conservation Field Centre. 1:30 p.m.: Lunch at the Lake St. George Conservation Field Centre and tour of the renovations. 4:15 p.m.: Return to Kortright.
