THAT The Minutes of Meeting Il/8D be adopted as if read.
CARRIED;
WATERSHED PLAN IMPLEMENTATION - UPDATE
Staff summarized progress on implementation of the Watershed Plan, and advised that
the Plan has been accepted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and will be used as
a reference for reviewing the Authority's proposed programmes and budget

THAT The report on the Watershed Plan Implementation - Update be received; and
THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT the staff be directed to study a means of informing the
public of the Authority's "Fill Regulation Line", and to prepare a report and
recommendations to the Executive Committee.

Staff summarized progress on the Environmentally Sensitive and/or Significant
Areas Study

THAT The progress report on the Environmentally Sensitive and/or Significant
Areas Study be received
CARRIED;
SITE VISIT - HEADWATERS' STUDY AREA
The Chairman advised that it was considered adviseab1e to postpone the visit to
the Headwaters' Study Area Members will be notified when a new date has been
set, with a reminder regarding appropriate clothing and footwear. A suggestion
to include the Caledon Urban Development Area in the proposed tour was noted

TOUR OF SITES IN AND ADJACENT
TO THE HUMBER RIVER WATERSHED
The meeting began with a tour of projects, including the Highway #404 Extension
north of the Gormley Sideroad, the Oak Ridges flood control channelization, the
Maple sanitary landfill site, a rural subdivision in the Town of Caledon, and the
site of the proposed Bolton flood control remedial measures

RURAL AREA PLANNING
The Board discussed the approach taken by the Town of Caledon in dealing with Rural
Estate subdivisions in the Headwater Zone It was evident from the description by
Mr. Kolb that the Caledon approach fosters the retention of natural conditions as
much as possible

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS TtmT the staff be directed to review the policies set out in
the Watershed Plan dealing with development in the Headwater Zone, taking into
consideration the approach used by the Town of Caledon:
THAT representatives of the Town of Caledon be invited to make a presentation at an
Executive Committee Meeting outlining their approach to Rural Estate subdivision
development
AND FURTHER THAT the staff review of Headwater policies be considered by the
Watershed Advisory Boards
