Etobicoke-Mimico Advisory Board Thursday-April-1-1965 #1/65
The Etobicoke-Mimico Advisory Board met jointly with the Flood Control
and Water Conservation Advisory Board in the Board Room, Authority
Office, #7 Highway, on Thursday, April 1, 1965, commencing at 2:00 p.m.

The Minutes of Meeting No. 1/63 were presented.

RESOLVED THAT: The Minutes of Meeting #1/63, as presented, be adopted
as if read.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY;
ETOBICOKE CREEK WATERSHED REPORT
The Report of the Etobicoke Creek Watershed was presented to the joint
meeting by representatives of M.M. Dillon Limited. The Report was
discussed in detail and the Flood Control and Water Conservation Ad-
visory Board adopted a Resolution approving of the Plan, in principle,
and recommending certain action be taken in connection therewith.

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The recommendations of the Flood Control
and Water Conservation Advisory Board, in connection with the Etobicoke
Creek Watershed Report, carried out by M.M. Dillon Limited, be adopted
by the Authority.

STAFF PROGRESS REPORT
Mr. Sutter presented a verbal Staff Progress Report, outlining progress
on the various projects under consideration in the Etobicoke-Mimico
area.

RESOLVED THAT: The Staff Progress Report be received.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY;
MUNICIPAL CO-OPERATION re FLOOD PLAIN LANDS

A general'dlscussion took place regarding the ways and means in which
further municipal co-operation might be achieved in securing adequate
zoning and acquiring flood plain lands.

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Executive Committee give consideration
to the matter of securing improved co-operation from municipalities
and their planning boards in achieving proper zoning of flood plain
lands and the acquisition of these flood plain lands on some basis
whereby the principalities will further assist the Authority in obtaining
said lands.

PROPOSED RE-ZONING - TORONTO TOWNSHIP - VICINITY OF
DUNDAS STREET AND THE ETOBICOKE CREEK

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Authority take the initiative and that
the Staff meet further with officials of Toronto Township in regard to
the proposed re-zoning of certain areas in the vicinity of Dundas St.,
and the Etobicoke Creek, and its future development.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY;
REGIONAL STUDY - PEEL & HALTON COUNTIES
It was brought to the attention of the Board that a regional study is
presently being carried out by the counties of Peel .and Halton, con-
cerning the future administration of the region.

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: Copies of our Policies and Plans of that
area of Peel County (under the jurisdiction of the Authority) be
submitted for the information of the Study being carried out of the
counties of Peel and Halton.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY;
The Meeting recessed to tour certain projects in the Watershed, and
adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
