Lemon RESOLVED THAT: The Minutes of Meeting #2/7l, as presented, be -adopted. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; STAFF PROGRESS REPORT The Staff Progress Report for the period January 1 to May 17, 1972 was presented. Re s. # 2 Moved by: R. Jennings Seconded by: A.W. Smith RESOLVED THAT: The Staff Progress Report for the period January 1 to May 17, 1972, be received and filed. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY;, E-2 -2- 1973 PRELIMINARY BUDGET ESTIMATES The 1973 Preliminary Budget Estimates were presented and discussed. Res. #3 Moved by: R.L. Nesbitt Seconded by: A. Sale RESOLVED THAT: The 1973 Preliminary Budget Estimates, as presented, be approved in principle; and further THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The 1973 Preliminary Budget Estimates, as appended as Schedule "A" of these Minutes, be included in the 1973 Preliminary Budget Estimates of the Authority. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; WATER QUALITY MJNITORING PROGRAMME - Review A Staff communication was presented reviewing the Water Quality Monitoring Programme for Conservation Areas. Re s. #4 Moved by: F.Mo Rede1meier Seconded by: E. Lemon RESOLVED THAT: The Staff communication having regard to the Water Quality Monitoring Programme for Conservation Areas be received; and THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The water quality monitoring programme at the Claireville Conservation Area be continued on the revised sampling schedule as recommended in the MacLaren report; and THAT the firm of James F. MacLaren Limited be retained to carry out the analysis of the data collected. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; PROPOSED WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT DEMONSTRATION TRAILS Mr. A.W. Smith of the Ministry of Natural Resources discussed a proposal concerning the establishment of wildlife management demonstration trails which the Ministry hopes to establish, in co- operation with the various Authorities and other agencies throughout the Province. Ross Lord RESOLVED THAT: The Staff consult with the appropriate wildlife biologists of the Ministry of Natural Resources, to review sites which may have a potential for cooperative wildlife management demonstration trails in the Metropolitan area. Followi.ng the presentation, the Board Meeting adjourned for a site visit to the proposed Metropolitan Region Conservation Centre, accompanied by Members of the Conservation Areas Advisory Board and Staff.
