Advisory Board met at the Authority Office, 5 Shoreham Drive, Downsview on Wednesday, April 26, 1972, commencing at 2:00 p.m. PRESENT WERE Chairman J.S. Scott Vice-Chairman H.C. Lawrie Members C.A. Balsdon B.G. Harrison Mrs. S. Martin Mrs. M.A. Reid A. Sale T.J. Shoniker Dr. F.H. Van Nostrand J.R. Williams Authority Chairman Dr. G. Ross Lord Authority Vice-Chairman R.G. Henderson Secretary-Treasurer F.L. Lunn Director of Operations K.G. Higgs Project Director WF Plan W.A. McLean MINUTES The Minutes of Meeting #2/71 were presented. Re s. # I Moved by: C.A. Balsdon Seconded by: Dr. F.H. Van Nostrand RESOLVED THAT: The Minutes of Meeting #2/71, as presented, be adopted as if read. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; CHAIRMAN'S REMARKS The Chairman briefly reviewed the present activities of the Authority as they apply to the R.D.H.P. area. STAFF PROGRESS REPORT Mr. McLean reviewed progress to date on the Waterfront Plan in the area of jurisdiction of the Board. Mr. Higgs reviewed progress on other projects in the area and spoke briefly on the proposed airport. SQUIRES BEACH AREA - CEMETERY Res. #2 Moved by: C.A. Balsdon Seconded by: H.C. Lawrie THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Staff investigate the status and preservation of the Greenlaw Cemetery in the Squires Beach area and report on same. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; 1-2 -2- PROPOSED POLLUTION CONTROL PLAN PETTICOAT-DUFFIN'S CREEK AREA A discussion took place regarding the possible location of a proposed Pollution Control Plant designed to serve the York Central Area and probably the proposed Airport and North Pickering Development. Res. #3 Moved by: J.R. Williams Seconded by: Mrs. M.A" Reid THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Staff be directed to study and present a report indicating, in a general way, a location on Lake Ontario in the vicinity of Duffin's Creek, for the possible establishment of a Water Pollution Control Plant, in order that the location and operation of such a plant will not adversely affect the Waterfront Plan in this area. CARRIED UNANIMJUSLY; LOWER DUFFIN'S CREEK AREA SOUTH OF HIGHWAY #2 Mr. Balsdon again suggested that the possibility of establishing access to that area of Lower Duffin's be investigated. Res. #4 Moved by: C.A. Balsdon Seconded by: J.R. Williams THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Staff, in consultation with the Village of Pickering, study and report on the possibility of establishing an access road from Church Street, Pickering, into that portion of the Lower Duffin's Area immediately south of Highway #2. Williams THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Staff be directed to provide written reports to future meetings of the Board on action taken as a result of resolutions adopted by the Board. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; EROSION PROBLEM - HIGHLAND CREEK Res. #6 Moved by: B.G. Harrison Seconded by: J.R. Williams THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Staff be directed to investigate and report on a possible solution to an erosion problem at the rear of No.29 and No. 31 Ladysbridge Street, Scarborough, in the Highland Creek area. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; MEETING #2/72 Res. #7 Moved by: B.G. Harrison Seconded by: T.J. Shoniker 1-3 -3- RESOLVED THAT: Meeting #2/72 be held on Thursday, September 28, 1972, at the Municipal Chambers, Borough of Scarborough, commenc- ing at 10:00 a.m., and that the meeting take the form of a Tour of Projects in the R.D.H.P. area.
