Goodhead Seconded By:- C. Clifford Resolved That : - the Minutes of Meeting No. 2/60 as presented, be adopted as if read. Carried Unanimously. P WGa SS REPORT: Mr. Higgs presented a Staff Progress Report of various Schemes effect- ing the Don Watershed. Res. 2 Moved Q- W. rennison Seconded By:- N. C. Goodhead Resolved That:- the Staff Report as presented by the Director of Operations be received. Carried Unanimously. DON VALLEY L[I DS -- EAST YORK: Miss Davidson requested that consideration be given to commencing negotiations for privately -owned lands in the area formerly covered by Scheme W.C.-14. Res. Moved By :- Miss T. Davidson Seconded By :- C. Clifford The Board Recommends That : - negotiations commence, and if possible, options be obtained on the privately -owned land in the vicinity of. the West -end of the Massey Creek area of the Don Valley. Carried Unanimously. PRO 'OSFD CP U NEL IMPROVEMENTS -- MASSEY CREEK: Miss Davidson requested that consideration be given to carrying out 1 -2 - 2 - proposed improvements to the Massey Creek Valley in the immediate future. Res. #4 Moved By:- Miss T. Davidson Seconded By:- C. Sauriol The Board Recommends That:- the Staff be instructed to prepare a report on the proposed improvements required on the Massey Creek between the Forks of the Don River and St. Clair Avenue with a view to carrying out certain of the works involved as a Winter Works project early in 1962. Carried Unanimously. PROPOSED HIKING TRAIL -- DON VALLEY: Mr. Sauriol suggested that there was an ideal location for a Hiking Trail on the North side of the Don Valley. Res. #5 Moved By:- C. Sauriol Seconded By:- Mrs. M. Robinson The Board Recommends That:- consideration be given to the establishment of a Nature and Hiking Trail on the North side of the Don Valley between Nesbitt Drive and the rear of Thorncliffe Developments' property. Carried Unanimously. Mr. Sauriol drew to the attention of the meeting certain pollution which he had noted recently in the East Branch of the Don River. It was agreed that the Staff would investigate. Mr. Clifford drew to the attention of the Board an unsatisfactory sewage effulent condition existing downstream from the Ladies Golf Club at Thornhill. It was agreed that the Staff would investigate. ADJOURNMENT: On Motion, the Meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m. H. S. Honsberger F. L. That negotiations commence, and if possible, options be obtained on the privately -owned land in the vicinity of the West -end of the Massey Creek area of the Don Valley; 2. That the Staff be instructed to prepare a report on the proposed improvements required on the Massey Creek between the Forks of the Don River and St. Clair Avenue with a view to carrying out certain of the works involved as a Winter Works project early in 1962; 3.
