Humber Valley Advisory Board Meeting November 29th, 1961 #1
The Humber Valley Advisory Board met in the Board Room of the
Authority Offices, Vaughan Township, on Wednesday, November 29th,1961,
commencing at 4:00 p.m.

TOUR:
The Members toured a number of projects in the Humber Watershed
prior to the Meeting.
MINUTES:
The Minutes of Meeting No. 1/60 were presented.
Res. #1 Moved By:- C. R. Wardlaw
Seconded By:- J. N. Duncan
Resolved That:- the Minutes of Meeting No. 1/60
as presented, be adopted as if read.
Carried Unanimously.
STAFF PROGRESS REPORT:
The Director of Operations presented a comprehensive Progress Report
on projects of the Authority generally and in particular those
concerned with the Humber Watershed.
PROPOSED NAME -- BLACK CREEK DAM SITE:
The possibility of providing a suitable name for the Park Lands
surrounding the Black Creek Dam Site were discussed in some detail.

Seconded By:- Mrs. D. Hague
The Board Recommends That:- the Municipality
of Metropolitan Toronto be requested to consider
establishing a committee with representatives
of the Metropolitan Parks Department, the
Conservation Authority, and North York Township,
to devise a suitable name for the Park Lands
surrounding the Black Creek Dam Site; and that
the words "Black Creeks' be not included in
any name proposed.

5 -YEAR PROGRESS REPORT:
The desirability of the Authority producing or publishing a Progress
Report marking the completion of the first five years of the
Authority was discussed.

Seconded By :- R. E. Jones
The Board Recommends That : - consideration
be given to producing and publishing a
Progress Report of accomplishments of the
Authority during the first five years,
Carried Unanimously.

REPORT NO. 1
of the
HUMBER VALLEY ADVISORY BOARD
(Being recommendations to the Exective)
1. That the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto be requested to
consider establishing a committee with representatives of
the Metropolitan Parks Department, the Conservation Authority,
and North York Township, to devise a suitable name for the
Park Lands surrounding the Black Creek Dam Site; and that the
words i'Black Creek" be not included in any name proposed;
2. That consideration be given to producing and publishing a
Progress Report of accomplishments of the Authority during the
first five years.
