Res. #1 Moved by: Mrs. N. Horwood Seconded by: W.G. Lowe RESOLVED THAT: The Minutes of Meeting #2/67, as presented, be adopted. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; DEMONSTRATION - TELEMETERING & SUPERVISORY CONTROL SYSTEM Mr. D. Moon of the Engineering Staff of James F. MacLaren Limited, outlined the operation of the Telemetering & Supervisory Control System and demonstrated to the two Boards how the system was able to collect data from recording rain gauges and stream gauges. PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING STUDY MIMICO CREEK - VILLAGE OF MALTON Mr. A. Perrin and Mr. W. Brownlee of H.G. Acres & Company Limited, Consulting Engineers, presented a report on the Preliminary Engineering Study of the Mimico Creek in the Village of Malton. Res. #2 Moved by: F.J. McKechnie Seconded by: H. Kennedy RESOLVED THAT: The Preliminary Engineering Report "Mimico Creek Channel Improvement at Malton Village ", as prepared by H.G. Acres & Company Limited, Consulting Engineers, be received; and further THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Preliminary Engineering Report "Mimico Creek Channel Improvement at Malton Village ", as prepared by H.G. Acres & Company Limited, Consulting Engineers, be referred to the Flood Control and Water Conservation Advisory Board. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; K -2 -2- PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING STUDY FTOBICOKE CREEK VICINITY Or STEELES AVLNUE Mr. K.M. Middleton and Mr. E.J. Lorant of M.M. Dillon Limited, Consulting Engineers, presented a Preliminary Engineering Study of the Etobicoke Creek in the vicinity of Steeles Avenue. Res. Moved by: W.G. Lowe Seconded by: M.J. Breen RESOLVED THAT: The Preliminary Engineering Study - Etobicoke Creek in the vicinity of Steeles Avenue, as prepared by M.M. Dillon Limited, Consulting Engineers, be received; and further THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Preliminary Engineering Study - Etobicoke Creek in the vicinity of Steeles Avenue, as prepared by M.M. Dillon Limited, Consulting Engineers, be referred to the Flood Control and Water Conservation Advisory Board. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; SNELGROVE DAM & RESERVOIR Considerable discussion took place between the two Boards with regard to the construction of the proposed Snelgrove Dam & Reservoir. Res. #4 Moved by: Mrs. N. Horwood Seconded by: W.G. Lowe THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: A further application be made to the Department of Energy & Resources Management, requesting approval of the construction of the Snelgrove Dam & Reservoir under the small dams and reservoirs as3istance programme. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY; STAFF PROGRESS REPORT Mr. Sutter presented a detailed Staff Progress Report outlining the status of the various works and engineering studies currently being undertaken by the Authority. CLAIREVILLE CONSERVATION AREA S/W corner Steeles Ave. & Highway #50 Res. #5 Moved by: F.J. McKechnie Seconded by: H. Kennedy THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The Conservation Areas Advisory Board be requested to review the possibility of the acquisition of certain small parcels of land situated at the south -west corner of Steeles Avenue and Highway #50, immediately adjacent to Authority owned lands.
